New Etsy Treasury!!!!

Here is a new LOVELY treasury full of bright and beautiful things. There are so many wonderful etsy sellers it was hard to choose just a few. I love the felt food and the bright felt clock. Both would be adorable for any child's play room. I also really love the stuffies. I'm seriously considering purchasing one for a friend of mine and her new baby. What a wonderful way to fall asleep at night, with a handmade, minky giraffe in bold colors.

There is so much going on here today. Not only am I trying to finish school so I can graduate this fall but we are prepairing for a new market in October. The market sounds like it's going to be a blast with handmade vendors from all over Iowa. We can hardly wait. This does mean that I need to step up the sewing game just a bit. I have one costume done and one in the works. Tonight it looks like I'll be watching re runs of Greys Anatomy and cutting out fabric.

The Leaves are changing...fall is coming

Fall is by far my favorite time of year. I love the way the leaves change color and the weather gets cooler. I always find the neatest sweaters to wear and I love all the various styles of boots you can find in stores. It's an obsession but what can you do.

Sewing dresses and little boy overalls was fun but I am very much looking forward to sewing costumes, sweaters, jackets and leggings. The colors being seen this year are pale pinks, soft grays, blacks, camo and shades of brown. We here at Lil Bow Peep Creations are looking forward to mixing in our own burst of flavor with colors like plum, burnt red and vintage blue.

Glitter covers our floor as we busily sew costumes like ladybugs, doctor outfits and fairy dresses with wings. This could perhaps be another reason I love fall; the costumes. Katie and I were just thinking the other day about the many costumes my mom made for us when we were younger. There is something we still miss about being able to dress up all the time perhaps that's why we have gone into the business of designing little fanciful things for babies and children to wear.

But I should go. There is so much to do before our market in October and so very little time. We have posted a discussion on our facebook page (lil bow peep creations). Check out our page and leave your comment!!

Review and Giveaway!!!

Frugal for my Friends is hosting a review of Lil Bow Peep burp cloths and hosting a giveaway!!!! Make sure to stop by and check it out :) http://frugalformyfriends.blogspot.com/2010/07/lil-bow-peep-creations-review-and.html
Hello everyone!!! I hope that you all are having a fabulous 4th :) The weather is warm and sticky and thankfully the rain has held off. Well we here at Lil Bow Peep are busy getting ready for our open house. We have two weeks left and LOTS to do.

This weekend we took care of two small boys (age 4 and 6) They were definitely a hand full. Kate and I thought it would be good practice taking care of them and working on the business for when we have kids. After turning the sun room into a lego pit, the dining room table into a fabric and sewing mecca, spending 30 min of every day applying sunscreen (15min for each boy), 4 hours of the total weekend swimming and 3 hours prepairing meals and snacks we have decided to wait a bit on the children and simply enjoy the business :)

This last week we also had some friends stoping by to view our merchandise. This gave my sister and I the perfect opportunity to practice setting up our display for the open house. We came up with some really great ideas that we are very excited about and can't wait to share!!!

Tonight the boys are gone and we are once again enjoying peace and quiet in the home. We have the tv on to our favorite shows, the sewing section of the house once again all organized and the snacks all ready to go. We'll keep you updated about the open house and the new products we are creating. Hope you all enjoy a wonderful evening and see some awesome fireworks :)

UPDATE!!!! :)

It has been WAY too long since we last updated our blog :) There is just so much going on!! This June we are once again attending Market Days in Des Moines. If you didn't get a chance to attend last month you should definitely drop by this month. It was super great and there were SO many unique shops to stop by!!!

Getting ready for Market Days has kept us pretty busy. We have added a couple of new items into our product list as well as updated a few of our old ones. We are very excited about the direction everything is taking :)

This month we have an extra hand in the sewing process. My grandma has come for an extended stay and has been helping us sew our products. She has been an invaluable asset to us at this busy time of year. (for some reason spring and summer equate baby showers) Even as I write this she is hard at work putting together some of our new burp cloths.

My sister (and partner in crime) is getting her car seat technician's license so she can legally install car seats and give advice on the proper car seat needed. She is very excited and I am SO proud of her. Soon I hope she will be dishing out advice to our readers on car seats. Believe me she has a lot to share :)

Anyways, I better get back to sewing. I just wanted to send out a quick update on what's been going on here. I hope you all have an opportunity to check out our new products in our etsy shop!!!!

Getting Ready for Market Days

May Market in Des Moines is getting closer every day! We have begun the process of getting ready which involves creating and making 66 items. We will have bibs, burp cloths, clothing, wet bags, blankets, felt food, baby wraps, booties, sets, pacifier clips and sippy leashes. I don't think there is anything we are not making. The good news is that we have wonderful family and friends who have been nice enough to volunteer their time to help us. We hope Market Days will be full of fun!

Mistakes Happen Even to Us

We currently have our sewing "Shop" set up near a bunch of windows. During the springtime we have a lot of asian beetles that like to congregate on our windows. A few of them had made it onto our windowsill and we had a great idea that we would just suck them up with the vacuum. Emily got the vacuum out and began. All of the sudden she starts screaming. I ran into the room to see her standing over the vacuum looking into it. She had sucked up a baby bootie. We laughed so hard. We quickly rescued it from the vacuum and threw it into the wash. Oops! We all make mistakes, even us who really wish we didn't.
